Hi! I’m Maisie! A creative based in Manchester, passionate about expanding and utilising my skills to create beautiful imagery and share stories and concepts!
Growing up in Bolton, I felt a disconnect to the major creative industries I admired so much all based in London, so throughout my teenage years I built my own connections, working with other young creatives feeling the same about the industries inaccessibility to the north. This was a key part of my journey to finding my style as well as my drive to be successful as a northern creative and create work just as good as those places that felt so far away. I am a hardworker who loves collaborating and I am always keen to better myself and the industry.
As an art director I love to tell stories throughout my work, whether this be using bold characterisation or concept. With a passion for social and fashion history as well as politics and current affairs, I like to use research and current interests to lead my work to be relevant and communicative. I also love looking at concepts driven from growing up and the experience of being a young person today / British culture, incorporating my passion for documentary style work.
In photography I love capturing bold stylised imagery, working heavily with film to capture colour rich and contrasting images whilst still holding a minimalistic feel. I would describe my style as a cross between documentary and editorial as I love combining real elements into a more exaggerated style. As well as my go-to style, I am constantly experimenting to further my practise and try new looks!
Casting is a fairly new interest of mine which I am quickly expanding upon. Working as a model myself I have experienced the modelling industry from the inside and understand the pressures and worries of models today. Within my casting I would love to provide diversity and equality. I personally value unique looks and personality and love matching this to brands to create authentic work truly representative of the brand.
